Summer

My mother always described getting out of school for summer as the feeling of a bird flying out of a cage--and it is indeed.  Even now when there is no school schedule to close me in, the first of June opens up a world sparkling and blue-warm.

Summer means shorter clothes and long days; it's "straight-up" sun and no shoes; it's strolling instead of running; and eating outside. . . all the things I left on hold a few months ago.

So have your own way, summer.  I'll open the windows and  make sure I get a good view.
