Autumn

when the wind goes woo-oo,

may it mean a fortune

mighty good for you. "

Harvest Party

In the garden, fall is my favorite season.  Come to think of it, in most things, autumn stands out.

After a sometimes dry, hot August, cooler temperatures give the flowers and herbs a second chance to bloom, and the butterflies come out of their cocoons to color-up the sky and see what all the action is about.  Everything looks healthy again and full of promise.

At about the same time, I say goodbye to the sound of summer cicadas and watch a slow coming of mist and dry leaves.  There's a clear sense that things are slowing down, and I feel I should say goodbye.

It's a wise season that can pull off both pomise and loss. How do you do that, autumn?
