An Artist's Sketchbook of Simple Living
Prints - Gallery II
Butterfly in the Dark - This dramatic mini poster was created from a photo I took during the "straight-up" sun on a summer's day. The monarchs love our red lantana, and it usually happens that I honor at least one of them every year with a new portrait. This is the first one created using a new technique.
Silver Mirror - This is a beautiful two-foot tall mirror in the living room made more perfect by the sun/moon design around the glass mirror. The etched look seemed just right with the textured metal and stalks of natural broomstraw. It's friendly and unique--just like a good mini poster should be.
Summer Loves April -- This print was altered quite a bit from the original photo, and I love how it turned out. An impressionist's look at a refreshing glass of summer sunshine.
Hidden Sun -- Hidden away in a summer forest is this mysterious clay face. Nice Mona Lisa smile you've got there.
Rusty Truck -- This picture was taken of a rusted out truck in a neighbor's yard during an afternoon school run. I suspect I'm not the only one who has stopped to take it's picture. Smile!
Acorns --- Acorns-a-plenty happen in the fall at our house. Who knew they could look so uptown and scientific?
.................................................................................................................
Rabbit On the Run -- We see a fair number of rabbits here at Rabbit Hill, and here's one of them. Probably eating the blossoms off my melon patch. Oh well.
Vintage Classic -- that's what this print is all about; every line and angle has been designed perfectly, and everywhere it goes, it adds style and a bit of "uptown." Promise.
Sewing By the Window -- This vintage machine is from a local thrift store and now has a permanent spot in our home near a window. It's made like a rock and says "R. H. Macy & Co., New York" on the side. You can't beat that!
Sunday Morning On the Porch -- The quietest time of my week; this makeshift table lays across the arms of my rocking chair, just in case I get the urge to draw. After I finish singing, that is.
Sweet Ride -- Not to be left behind, this 1940's era car is as sleek and uptown as they come. And whose idea was it to do away with white wall tires and smooth hubcaps??
Vintage Typewriter - a 60's era electric Royal Coronet typewriter, color enhanced. Sits in my loft studio ready for Page 1, "It was a dark and stormy night."
Annie In the Fall -- I have a dress form that changes from time to time, depending on what I find at the thrift store for her to wear. Annie is what I call her.
