An Artist's Sketchbook of Simple Living
Dahlias -- some flowers can't be beat for color. These peach and coral dalias are just such flowers. I'm always surprised by the translucent effect of light on these petals, especially the dahlia in the turquoise container.
Georgia Tractor -- This lovely tractor sits on the grounds of Betty's Store in Helen, Georgia north of us. In reality, it is rusted and therefore used mostly for picture taking, which I did, of course. It reminds me of the tractor my Dad once owned. It was a classic workhorse, with all the charm of a southern gentleman.
Nandina Berries II - This is a cheerful picture of nandina berries at their reddest and healthiest. I chose a white vase with black dots because red loves such a thing. The chair is actually a child-sized chair, so the arrangement isn't as big as it might seem. The shadows are heightened with a digital technique I use quite a bit in my work.
Morning At the Cabin -- The nooks and crannies of the cabin back porch fill up with light in the bright rays of the morning sun. I love how this print captures that and appears as if you could sweep the light away with your broom.
FolkArt Strawberry -- This is a new technique I'm experimenting with and have been pleased with the results. The original drawing was done on black sandpaper and from there I went nuts. The original is very tiny -- only about 4 x 3, but it looks impressive as a large print. To me it has a folkart look, wihch is always a good thing. I hope you like it too.
Vintage Jeep -- The best of the best in vintage jeeps! The colors here are somewhat altered from the real-life jeep we saw parked at a local fast-food place, but just look at that face, not to mention the cool, unexpected umbrella across the back seat. It deserves a place in my print history, and maybe in your home too.
Copperware -- The warm colors of this print are especially pleasing to me, as well as the subtle glow of light in the lower right. The textures also compliment each other and add to the interest. If I had a large kitchen, I would hang this on my vast gallery/wall. Maybe you can do that for me in your kitchen.

Smelling the Flowers -- These flowers were such a beautiful color selection when they were fresh that I had to dry them. The good news was that they dried into even more beautiful colors. It's wonderful when that happens. Of course, the nose in the picture is an added bonus.
